Be your own finance manager
We live in a strange society; we were taught how to earn money but never told how to manage this money. So we all jumbled up by the name finance and safely considered this as complicated and scary topic.
Whenever the topic personal finance comes up we simply ignored it by saying that this is meant for people who have lot of money, nobody had taught me how to do this, this too complicated, if we have money it will take care of itself. So we simply put our hard earned money in the bank where we are getting little or no interest.
Still doesn’t ring any bell, one out of every 100 American household filed for personal bankruptcy protection in 1997. Personal finance and managing money is very important because your future depends on it. If you don’t do anything about it, you may survive but then you couldn’t prosper.
The big question, I couldn’t understand it! Consider this, nothing is impossible and then take one step at a time, first understand the basics and then move up to dividend reinvestment plans or dollar-cost averaging. There is whole lot of information is floating around the world but be wary as many a times these are wrong!!
The younger you are the better is to start managing your finances, which will eventually make your older life secure and stable. One should balance lifestyle with your finances. When we started it’s not always the rosy picture, hang in there, situation will change. Always believe that you are heading towards personal and financial success. Take a quiz on the personal finance; this will help you to check your knowledge and what information you need to gather.
Know your bank/investment plan, read thoroughly the terms and conditions, if you are nor able to comprehend any rule; please make sure to check with your agent. He is bound to answer, not satisfied with the answer then skip the agent or the bank. Always be aware that no service is free, so double check about the fees associated with any financial service. Cross check several times before getting into the deal.
Credit cards can be boon or bane. Use judicially and with discretion. If you are paying high fees and interest rates, time to look for another card.
Finance is a very broad term and fitting this in few words is impossible but to begin with takes the rein in your hands and start the race. Slowly and steadily you will win the big game.
